Music Department Presents: “Melodic Madness of Modern Opera” posted 4/6/10
Scenes and Arias from Candide, Little Women, and The Old Man and the Thief!

ADRIAN, Mich. The Adrian College Music Department will present its Opera Workshop performance “THE MELODIC MADNESS OF MODERN OPERA” on Sunday, April 11 at 3 PM in Dawson Auditorium.

This performance represents the culmination of this semester’s work exploring the repertoire of contemporary American opera with Elizabeth Major. Michael Gartz is the pianist for the performance. Talented music majors of Adrian College will sing the performance.

Tom Hodgman, chair of the music department commented, “The students in the Opera Workshop program at Adrian College have really taken the stage under Ms. Major’s instruction. I hope that our Adrian Community will come and see what fine young musicians are budding at this institution.”

The performance is free and open to the public. Dawson Auditorium is located on Charles Street.
