Jazz Ensembles Present Spring Concert posted 4/9/10

ADRIAN, Mich. - The public is invited to the annual spring concert of the Adrian College Jazz Ensembles and Jazz Combo on Saturday, April 17, at 3 P.M. in Dawson Auditorium on the Adrian College campus.

The three bands will play a wide variety of selections, including Herbie Hancock's “Maiden Voyage”, Carlos Antonio Jobim's “One Note Samba”, a Latin version of Clifford Brown's “The Blues Walk”, Chick Corea's “La Fiesta”(as performed by the Woody Herman Band), and a Charles Mingus composition, “Self Portrait in Three Color.”

In addition, the bands will perform two selections composed by legendary alto saxophonist Benny Carter – “Souvenir” (featuring student pianist Josh Larson) and “A Walkin' Thing”featuring the saxophone section.
