GUEST BAND IN CONCERT
ADRIAN, Mich. - The public
is invited to a concert shared by two college
bands: The North Central College Concert Winds
of Naperville, Illinois and the Adrian College
Concert Band on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 P.M.
The concert will take place
in Dawson Auditorium on the Adrian College campus.
Admission and parking are free.
The North Central College
Concert Winds is conducted by Dr. Larry Van
Oyen. This performance is in conjunction with
their spring tour. Their selections include
the “Florentiner March” by Julius
Fucik, “Apocalyptic Dreams” by David
Gillingham, “Wedding Dance” from
“Hasseneh” by Jacques Press, and
the “Olympic Fanfare and Theme”
by John Williams.
The Adrian College Concert
Band is conducted by Dr. Marty Marks. Their
selections include “The Glory of the Yankee
Navy” by John Philip Sousa, selections
from “Suite of Old American Dances”
by Robert Russell Bennett, “An Irish Rhapsody”
by Clare Grundman, and the “Children’s
March” by Percy Grainger.
Dr. Marks says, “It
is a rare opportunity to hear two college bands
in one concert. We hope that many will attend.”
CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT AT ADRIAN
COLLEGE
ADRIAN, Mich. - The music
department at Adrian College proudly presents
a Chamber Music concert on Thursday, April 23
at 8 P.M. in Herrick Chapel on the Adrian College
campus.
The public is invited
to come enjoy a variety of music performed by
the chamber choir, brass ensemble, woodwind
ensembles, percussion ensemble, guitar ensemble
and more. Admission is free.
