Adrian College
Theatre Announces 'Present Laughter'
posted 4/11/07
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College
theatre department announces the production of “Present
Laughter,” a play by Noel Coward. It is scheduled
April 12, 13 and 14 in the Downs Hall Theatre.
This fast-paced and witty farce of
the 1930s, concerns a well-known, 40-ish actor, Gary
Essendine, who is about to set off for an extended tour
in Africa. Essendine enjoys all the advantages of fame:
women who can't resist him, fawning fans, and late nights
of partying, followed by late mornings of undisturbed
sleeping. With typical Coward repartee and dazzling
wit, he sidesteps complications and mounting confusion.
The theatre is located in Downs Hall
on Madison Street. Tickets are $7 for the general public
and $5 for students, seniors and Adrian College staff.
Thursday and Friday performances are scheduled at 8
p.m. and Saturday performances are scheduled at 2 p.m.
and 8 p.m.
