Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series Continues posted 3/9/10
Dr. Seth Knox presents "Metaphor and Ideology"

ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is pleased to announce that the Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series will continue on Tuesday, March 16, at noon in Knight Auditorium with a presentation by Dr. Seth Knox, professor of modern languages and cultures at the College.

Knox will give a presentation entitled “Metaphor and Ideology.” Conceptual metaphors can be powerful transmitters of ideology because they are pervasive and go largely unnoticed in language. Knox will discuss how conceptual metaphor themes can be recovered and analyzed for latent ideology with the tools of cognitive and corpus linguistics.

Knight Auditorium is located in Valade Hall which is located at the corner of S. Madison St. and Williams St. All sessions are free and open to the public.
