Band and Jazz Ensembles
to Perform
ADRIAN, Mich. - The public
is invited to two free concerts featuring the
Adrian College Band, Jazz Ensembles and the
TCA Big Band, on Sunday, April 5 in Dawson Auditorium
on the Adrian College campus.
The first concert, featuring
the Concert Band, is scheduled at 3 P.M. The
band will perform John Philip Sousa’s
“Glory of the Yankee Navy” and Percy
Grainger’s “Children’s March.”
Other selections include “Purple Heart”
(a tribute to fallen Marines), “Irish
Rhapsody”, and selections from “Suite
of Old American Dances”, which will feature
guest conductor Alan Jacobus. Mr. Jacobus is
the award winning band director from the Les
Cheneaux Community Schools in the Upper Peninsula.
The second concert features
performances from three jazz ensembles –
the AC Seven O’clock Band, the AC Eight
Thirty Band, and the TCA Community Big Band
from Tecumseh. Music will include a wide variety
of selections ranging from traditional jazz
to modern pop. Featured soloists will include
Adrian College students as well as well-known
local musicians. |
