ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is pleased to announce that Ashley Bugeja, a senior majoring in psychology and Spanish, was chosen for a national award through Chi Omega, the second largest women's organization in the United States.

The organization has a very prestigious institute called the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute. This highly competitive institute chooses 20 women each year from its alumnae and active chapters to take part in an elite leadership institute. Bugeja was selected as one of the 20 women attending this year. At the institute, the chosen women are given intensive training on personal growth and leadership in their communities.

“I am so honored to be the first woman of Adrian College to attend this institute,” said Bugeja.

Bugeja will be attending the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute on for the weekend of March 27, 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee at the Chi Omega National Headquarters. All accommodations are provided by the Chi Omega Foundation.

“It is such an honor to be chosen for this,” said Bugeja. “Chi Omega is an organization full of talented, incredible women, and I am so glad that I am a part of it.”

Ashley Bugeja will graduate in December and plans to further her education in industrial and organizational psychology. She is originally from Saint Clair Shores, Mich. and is a graduate of Conner Creek Academy East in Roseville, Mich.
