The following spring performances have been announced.

ADRIAN COLLEGE
BAND, CHOIR AND LENAWEE COMMUNITY CHORUS TO PERFORM
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian
College Band, Adrian College Choir and Lenawee Community
Chorus are scheduled to perform their “Tribute
to America” concert on Sunday, April 1.
The Concert Band will accompany
the choirs on patriotic pieces, such as “America
the Beautiful,” “God Bless America,”
and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
The Concert band will also feature student conductors,
Kimberly Ferguson and Sarah Bartrum, in addition to
Dr. Tom Hodgman, choral director and Dr. Marty Marks,
band director.
The event is open to the public
and costs $5 at the door and is scheduled to begin
at 3 p.m. in the Adrian College Chapel. The proceeds
of this concert support the Music Department at Adrian
College.
ADRIAN COLLEGE
JAZZ BAND TO PERFORM top
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian
College jazz ensemble will perform on Tuesday, April
3 at 8 p.m. in Dawson Auditorium. The ensemble will
perform a variety of jazz and blues selections, including
pieces made famous by jazz legends, such as Bill Watrous,
Thad Jones and Buddy Rich.
Adrian College trombonist, Molly
Muller, will be the featured soloist on “A Time
for Love,” the great jazz ballad arranged for
Bill Watrous by Sammy Nestico.
The concert will also feature performances
from select Adrian College chamber ensembles, including
the saxophone and clarinet quartets. Both groups are
directed by Professor Shannon Ford, an established
professional freelance performer who is currently
in-demand in the Detroit and Toledo areas, as well
as throughout the Midwest.
This event is free and open
to the public. Dawson Auditorium is located off of
Charles Street on the Adrian
College campus.

FACULTY MEMBER, DOUBLE BASSIST TO PERFORM top
Aaron Keaster will debut two
new songs at faculty recital
ADRIAN, Mich. – Toledo Symphony
double bassist and Adrian College low string instructor,
Aaron Keaster, is scheduled to present a faculty recital
on Monday, April 16.
Keaster received an Andrew W. Mellon
Foundation grant was received through the Toledo Symphony
allowing him to commission two works for bass, flute,
and harp. One of these pieces was written by fellow
Toledo Symphony member William McDevitt and the other
was composed by Andrew Bishop, a music composition
instructor at Albion College. These two pieces will
debut at the performance. Performing alongside Keaster
on the world premiere pieces will be his wife, flautist
Michelle Keaster and harpist Nancy Lendrim, also of
the Toledo Symphony.
Other works being performed include
a piece composed for bass and harp by fellow Indiana
University alumni, John Dahlstrand, in addition to
pieces by Beethoven and François Rabbath
The recital is scheduled to
be held in the Adrian College Chapel, located off
of Charles Street, beginning at 8 p.m. This event
