Adrian College and Sodexho Welcome Chef Joaquin Suarez Ordonez posted 2/11/10
Event part of the 2009 Global Chef Program
ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College and Sodexo, the official dining services provider to more than 600 college campuses across the United States, welcomes Chef Joaquin Suarez Ordonez from Bogota, Colombia to Adrian College on Monday, Feb. 15 from 5-7 P.M. in Ritchie Marketplace.
This event is part of the 2009 Global Chef Program.
Adrian College students are invited to taste Chef Suarez’s traditional Colombian dinner consisting of Ajiaco Santafereño soup, Bandeja Paisa, which is a food tasting from the city of Antioquia which includes grilled beef and pork, sausage, corn, red beans with Creole sauce, rice, fried plantain and eggs along with Salpicon, a traditional tropical fruit salad.
Chef Suarez will also be participating in Dr. John Eipper’s Spanish Education class to discuss the book “The General in His Labyrinth” by famed Colombian author and Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez being used by the class this semester. He will also be showcasing his talents at a VIP luncheon to promote Adrian College’s Study Abroad program.
The Global Chef Program is a month-long international chef residency that provides an opportunity for Sodexo’s top chefs worldwide to travel to different countries and share authentic international cuisine with local teams, students, faculty and staff.
