2/5/09
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Robinson
Planetarium and Adrian College proudly present
“What’s up in the Sky Tonight?”
and “Following the Drinking Gourd.”
“What’s up in
the Sky Tonight?” will take place Friday,
Feb. 13, Friday, March 20 and Friday, April
17, 2009 with all shows beginning at 7 P.M.
This live discussion about the night sky will
feature the bright stars, planets, and constellations
of the current sky. Many bright stars and some
interesting telescope objects can be found at
this time of year as the nights get shorter
the Sun progress further to the north each day.
“Follow the Drinking
Gourd” will take place Thursday and Friday,
Feb. 19 & 20 at 7 P.M. The book, “Follow
the Drinking Gourd”, by Jeanette Winter
is the basis for this planetarium show. It will
take you on a journey back in time to learn
how constellations helped slaves successfully
find their way to freedom using the Underground
Railroad. This program, geared toward children,
is a wonderful program to share with family
and friends.
The Robinson Planetarium is
located in Peele Hall at the corner of Charles
and Williams streets on the Adrian College campus.
All shows are free and open to the public. Special
shows for school groups can be scheduled by
