Adrian College Concert Band Performance posted 2/9/09

ADRIAN, Mich. The public is invited to hear the Adrian College Concert Band perform on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 3 P.M. in Dawson Auditorium on the Adrian College campus. Admission and parking are free.

The band will perform “Prokofiev's March” (Op. 99), and “The President's March” - Henry Fillmore's last composition. In addition, the band will perform “Cake Walk”, the first movement of Robert Russell Bennett's Suite of Old American Dances. Guest Conductor Jim Rice will conduct “Epinicion” by John Paulson - one of the first avant garde pieces composed for wind band. The band will also perform “October” by the new award-winning composer Eric Whitacre, and “Genesis” - composer James Curnow's musical portrayal of the Creation, based on the hymn All Creatures of Our God and King.

Dawson Auditorium is located off on Charles Street.
