Asks community for non-perishable food items
ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is sponsoring “Operation Haiti” by collecting non-perishable food items to assist with the Haiti relief efforts. The College is encouraging the campus community to get involved by extending the drive through Friday, Feb.5
Community members can drop off their donated non-perishable food items in the Caine Student Center on Williams St. The most needed items are beans, rice and bottled water.
“The departments of student life and academic affairs have come together to rally around the cause of Haitian relief,” said Dr. Agnes Caldwell, dean and vice president of academic affairs. “We are especially pleased to come together as a campus and live the College’s mission as well as our Ribbons of Excellence, specifically caring for humanity and the world.”
The College is partnering up with ISOH/IMPACT, an international Christian based organization that focuses on disaster relief and development projects at home, across the United States and around world. The organization is based out of Waterville, Ohio and will be shipping all collected items to Haiti.
As of date, approximately 200,000 lives have been lost due to the massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, Jan 12, 2010.
Please join us in praying for the children and families devastated by the earthquake in Haiti. Adrian College thanks you in advance for your support and generosity.
