Adrian College Presents
'A Broadway Revue'
posted 1/16/08
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian
College music department’s chapter of
MENC (Music Educators National Conference) is
hosting its 5th annual Broadway Revue, ‘Be
Our Guest’ on Friday and Saturday Feb.
1 & 2.
MENC, which is a student-run
organization, believes the ‘Revue’
is a great way to allow Adrian College students
to showcase their talents through another venue.
All proceeds from this year’s show will
go towards the Adrian College Choir’s
trip to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing,
China.
The ‘Revue’ is
directed by Amanda Born, a senior at Adrian
College. In addition, seniors Molly Muller and
Jim Davidson will be conducting the show, while
senior Mackenzie Fader and junior Bridget Leary
will choreograph the show. This year’s
performance will feature large dance and chorus
ensembles including numbers from Beauty and
the Beast, Charlie Brown, 25th Annual Putnam
County Spelling Bee, Fiddler on the Roof, West
Side Story, and many more.
Auditions were held in October
and 35 Adrian College students were selected
to perform. The cast will be accompanied by
a student-conducted orchestra pit composed of
students and faculty. Adrian College alum Eric
Swanson, and current students Becky Ditto, Shana
Flores, Mackenzie Fader, Gerianne Ditto, Nicholas
Fuqua, and Tom Pavlovich, are just a few of
the soloists performing.
The show will be held on Friday
and Saturday, Feb. 1 & 2 at 8:00 PM in Dawson
Auditorium, located on the College Campus. Tickets
are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Groups
of eight or more who reserve their seats before
January 30 will receive a discount price of
$8. All reservations are available via email
at broadwayrevue08@yahoo.com.
