posted 1/19/07
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Music Department’s
chapter of MENC (Music Educators National Conference)
invites you to “A Broadway Revue.”
This year’s performance will
feature numbers from “Wild Party”, “Hairspray”,
“STOMP”, “Masquerade”, “Lion
King”, “Cabaret”, and many more.
All proceeds from this year’s
show will go towards the Adrian College Choirs’
performance in May at the 400th anniversary of Jamestown.
MENC, a student-run organization,
puts on the “Revue” to provide musical theater
students with another venue to showcase their talents.
Auditions were in November and 25 Adrian College students
will entertain for the night. The cast will be accompanied
by a 15-piece orchestra pit composed of students and
faculty. Some of the 14 soloists include Adrian College
students Kelly Fox, Ben Rosebrock, and Eric Swanson,
the former director of the show. The performance will
also feature dance and large chorus numbers.
The Revue is directed by Becky Ditto,
Adrian College junior and MENC Vice President. Junior
Amanda Born is the assistant director, and sophomore
Cyndi Ferguson, a musical theatre major, will choreograph
the show. She is assisted by sophomore Beth Ann Barbieri.
The show is scheduled on Thursday
and Friday Feb. 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. in Dawson Auditorium,
located on the Adrian College campus. Tickets are $10
for adults and $5 for students. Groups of eight or more
who reserve their seats before Jan. 30 will receive
a discount price of $8. All reservations are available
via email at broadwayrevue07@yahoo.com.
For more information, contact the music department at
