AC Equestrian Team Ends Semester Strong posted 11/17/09

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College Equestrian Team competed in their final Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) event of the semester on Nov. 14 and 15. The show was hosted by the University of Michigan at Willowbrooke Farms in Plymouth.

Adrian College scored well both days of the competition.

On Saturday, sophomore Colleen Tekamp placed first in the Intermediate flat. This success was first followed by sophomore Ally Lowe, earning a second in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter.  Sophomore Jesse Young then took second in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, and sophomore Laura Thompson won her class in the Beginner Walk/Trot.

The team’s success continued into Sunday’s competition with freshman Lauren Miller setting the pace after receiving a second in Novice flat. Lowe placed third in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter; Young placed second in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter and Thompson earned a second place in Beginner Walk/Trot, showing their solid and dependable riding abilities. 

The team will not compete again until next semester, with their first show on Jan. 9 & 10 at Willowbrooke Farms.
