Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series Continues posted 11/2/09
Dr. Carissa Massey presents at November session
ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is pleased to announce that the Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series continues Nov. 13 at noon in Knight Auditorium with a presentation by Dr. Carissa Massey, assistant professor of art history at the College.
Massey’s presentation, “Appalachian Museums: Craft Revivals, Tourism, and Cultural Identity”, stems from research conducted this summer in Central Appalachia. Massey will discuss museums and galleries in Appalachia whose history, collections, and museological philosophies engage with Appalachian identity and cultural practices indigenous to the region.
Knight Auditorium is located in Valade Hall off of Williams St. All sessions are free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch if they so choose. More information may be obtained by visiting http://www.adrian.edu/faculty_staff/accet/brown_bag.php . |
