Theatre Students Perform in ‘The Insanity of Mary Girard' posted 11/24/08
Theatre department promises a night filled with suspense

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College theatre department invites you to see “The Insanity of Mary Girard”, a play by Lanie Robertson. The play will show Thursday thru Saturday, Dec. 4-6, in Downs Hall.

Based on a true story, this chilling, dark drama takes place in the fall of 1790, when a woman named Mary Girard is committed into an insane asylum by her husband after she becomes pregnant by another man. While she claims she is not insane, a group of furies dance and move around Mary, transforming into people from her past. As more facts are revealed, the question becomes: Is Mary actually insane or is it her status as a woman that leads everyone to believe only the word of Stephan Girard?

“The Insanity of Mary Girard” will play in Downs Hall with all three performances at 8 P.M. Ticket prices are $7.00 for the general public and $5.00 for students, seniors and Adrian College staff.

Downs Hall is located off of Madison Avenue on the Adrian College campus.
