Jim Ottaviani Visits Adrian

Ottaviani's comic books
tell true tales of scientists and engineers
ADRIAN, Mich. – The
Adrian College art department invites you to
hear Jim Ottaviani, writer and publisher, on
Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. Ottaviani is the
founder of G.T. Labs, a publishing company that
specializes in true stories of science and scientists
in comic book form.
Ottaviani is a nuclear physicist
in addition to writing and publishing comics
about science, some of which have been adopted
as part of the science curriculum in public
schools in Maryland.
All of Ottaviani's books have
been nominated for multiple awards, including
an Eisner & ALA Popular Paperback of the
Year, and they also receive critical praise
in publications such as “The Comics Journal”,
“Physics World”, “Entertainment
Weekly” and “Discover Magazine”
as well as national broadcast attention in outlets
such as NPR's Morning Edition and the CBS Morning
Show.
Former nuclear engineer, Jim
Ottaviani is now Head of Information Services
at the University of Michigan. He also serves
as the departmental liaison to Industrial and
Operations Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
and Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences
