Adrian College Students Art Permanent Fixture in Herrick Hospital posted 10/25/10
Included in hospital’s new health center

ADRIAN, Mich. - Adrian College is excited to announce that eight art and design students were selected by curators Shelly Hickman and Kris Schmidt for inclusion in the new Herrick Hospital Constance A. Farver Women’s Health Center permanent collection.

Students whose work was purchased include 2010 graduates Sarah Evans, with her glass and acetate images of flowers that honor her grandmother’s battle with ovarian cancer and Ashlee Hill’s ceramic wall piece, “Tree.”

Current seniors include Emma Donelson’s work which references the body using applicay and embroidery; Anna Pasternak whose contribution is a large painting of a Guatemalan girl inspired by her study abroad experience last year; and two abstracted paintings featuring dots, butterflies and a purple sofa by Mary Molnar.

Three juniors also selected include Mariah Postelwait’s work, a digital landscape of component parts; Erika Squanda’s painting of two children leaping; and Andrea Worthington’s collection of ceramic flowers that greet you as you enter the center and alert you the works of art will be of special note throughout the center.
