| Community Clay Program Offers Fall Class posted 10/7/10
Fun in Adrian College’s Clay Studio
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Community Clay Program sponsored by the Adrian College Art and Design Department will offer a fall class in ceramics which will explore a variety of techniques using graphic media for decoration.
Beginners through experienced clay students will learn all about techniques for decorating ceramic surfaces. Hand-building techniques and the potter’s wheel will be explored as a tool for making creative vessels. Class will be taught by Pi Benio, Adrian College Professor and Adrian College BFA, Penland School for Craft Fellow, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp faculty, and Teaching Assistant Sarah Kandell-Gritzmaker, with special guest artists John Ahearn, Ben Coffman, Chris Reed, and Andrea Worthington.
Class will be held Saturdays 9:30-noon October 16-November 20, 2010. Enrollment will be limited to the first 15 students to register. Classes will take place in the fully equipped ceramics studio in Mahan Hall on the Adrian College campus. Generous studio time will be available during the week. Cost for tuition, studio time, and all materials is $160.00. Half scholarships are available for high school students.
