Guitarist Richard Lange presents recital at Adrian College posted 10/22/09

ADRIAN, Mich. - Join Guitarist Richard Lange as he presents his recital in the second of the Faculty Recital Series sponsored by the Adrian College Music Department. The recital will take place on Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m. in Dawson Auditorium.

Lange began studying guitar in 1964. He joined the Adrian College music faculty in 2004 after receiving a master’s degree in music performance from the University of Toledo. A former journalist who received his B.A. in communication/print media from the University of Toledo in 1993, he also studied Japanese language and culture extensively. Before that, he carved out a career in commercial music regionally.

His current focus is jazz improvisation, composition and arranging. He maintains a private studio and regularly performs in jazz groups and pit orchestras for stage shows in the region. Repertoire for the recital includes “Joshua” by Miles Davis, “Naima” by John Coltrane, and “Gloria’s Step” by Scott LaFaro. This recital is free and open to the public.

This event is free and open to the public. Dawson Auditoroum is located on the Adrian College campus off of Charles Street.
