Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series Continues posted 10/5/09
October session announced

ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is pleased to announce that the Faculty Brown Bag Scholarship Series will continue fall sessions on Oct. 20 at noon in Knight Auditorium with a presentation by Mr. Garin Horner, assistant professor of art & design at the College.

Horner’s presentation, “Teaching Visual Literacy in the Arts”, will discuss the concept of how teaching visual literacy to students of Art is about helping students intellectually examine what they see in order to consciously understand visual relationships that they see in the world around them. As students become visually aware of a meaning saturated world, they learn to approach their own artwork in ways that communicate with greater clarity their individual creative voices.

Knight Auditorium is located in Valade Hall off of Williams St. All sessions are free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch if they so choose. More information may be obtained by visiting http://www.adrian.edu/faculty_staff/accet/brown_bag.php.
