through House Resolution 1059
ADRIAN, Mich. – This
fall the United States House of Representatives
passed House Resolution 1059 which recognizes
the Adrian College men’s
varsity hockey team for their accomplishments
as an inaugural team in 2007-08.
Last year the Bulldogs had
an outstanding season with 26 wins and 3 losses.
They received many accolades as a team and as
individual players. Captain Adam Krug was named
MCHA Player of the Year and at-the-time freshmen
Eric Miller, Shawn Skelly, Chris Stansik, Quinn
Waller, and Brad Fogal were named MCHA All-Conference;
Rob Hodnicki also received MCHA All-Academic
honors.
H. Resolution 1059 “congratulates
the Adrian College Bulldogs men’s hockey
team for winning the MCHA regular season title
and postseason tournament.”
There are 420 NCAA Div. III
schools across the country, making it the NCAA’s
largest division. The 2007-08 Adrian College
Bulldogs, guided by head coach Ron Fogarty,
hold the record for having the best first year
win-loss record in NCAA Div. III history.
The Resolution also “recognizes
the significant achievements of the players,
coaches, students, alumni, and support staff
whose dedication and hard work helped the Bulldogs
achieve remarkable success during its first
season.”
Last March, the Bulldogs won
the Harris Cup at the MCHA postseason tournament
in Milwaukee. The team earned national ranking
and consideration for the NCAA tournament. They
averaged almost eight goals a game and won their
final 20 games in a row.
The 2008-09 Bulldogs
return to the ice in their home opener vs. Neumann
College this Saturday, Nov.1; the puck drops
at 7 P.M. at Arrington Ice Arena. The players
will be recognized before the game with the
unveiling of the 2007-08 MCHA regular season
and playoff championship banners. |
