Planetarium Announces Two Shows posted 10/19/07

The Robinson Planetarium at Adrian College presents two shows, “The Cowboy Astronomer” and “What’s up in the Sky Tonight?”

The first show, “The Cowboy Astronomer,” will explore the wonders of the night sky from the perspective of a cowboy astronomer. Throughout the show he will share the wisdom he gained while living on a ranch his entire life. There are two showings, both at 7 p.m., on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8.

“What’s up in the Sky Tonight?” includes a live discussion about the evening sky featuring the existing stars, planets, and constellations. Many bright stars and some interesting objects, seen through a telescope, can be found during this time of year. There are three showings, all at 7 p.m., on Nov. 2, Nov. 30, and Dec. 14.

All shows are free and open to the public. The planetarium is located in Peelle Hall at the corner of Charles and Williams streets. For more information, or to schedule special showings for school groups, call Dr. Sarah Hanson at 517-264-3944
