Lisa Switalski Presents Art Exhibit
ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian
College alumna Lisa Switalski, bachelor of fine
arts 2002, is exhibiting in Adrian College’s
Heritage Room, located in Shipman Library. Her
exhibit, Artifact, includes an installation
of handmade and printed paper and a selection
of her handmade artists’ books. Ms. Switalski
received her Master of Fine Arts from the Chicago
Center for the Book and Paper Arts, Columbia
College, in May 2007. She works as a papermaker
at the Judith Brodsky Center on the New Brunswick
campus of Rutgers, the State University of New
Jersey.
The exhibit continues through
October 28 during Shipman Library hours: Sunday,
noon to 11 P.M.; Monday through Thursday, 8
A.M. to 11 P.M.; Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.; and
Saturday, 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Adrian
College artists sweep Lenawee Live
ADRIAN, Mich. — Adrian College art alums
Jillane Dumdei (’06) and Emily Pierce
(’06) were awarded second and third places
respectively at the Lenawee Live art exhibition
in September. All artists who currently live
or previously lived or worked in Lenawee County,
including college students, were invited to
exhibit at The Bank of Lenawee’s main
branch located in downtown Adrian.
Senior art major Linette Griteman,
art education instructor Jean Lash, and retired
faculty member Hank Cetola won three of four
Honorable Mentions awarded.
Awards were chosen by juror
Mary Fortuna, artist and exhibitions director
of Paint Creek Center for the Arts in Rochester
Hills. The Bank of Lenawee sponsors Lenawee
Live and funds the awards.

Exhibition Awards
ADRIAN, Mich. - The annual Adrian College Student
Juried Art Exhibition is on display in Stubnitz
Gallery, Downs Hall, through October 27. Deb
Greer and Patti Schwarz, the directors of River
Gallery in Chelsea, chose the 71 works on display
from those entered by students last April.
The grand prize, the Ox-Bow
Study Award, was given to John Ahearn, a junior.
In addition, sophomore Jayne Burns, senior Kara
Bodenbender, and junior Laura Van Camp were
awarded exhibitions in the Shipman Library's
Heritage Room during the 2007-2008 academic
year.

alumni were recognized for exceptional work:

Tecumseh:
John Ahearn, a junior, is a Tecumseh High School
graduate. He is an art studio, art major.
Farmington Hills:
Jayne Burns, a sophomore, is a North Farmington
High School graduate.
Reading:
Laura Van Camp, a junior, is a Reading High
School graduate. She is an art studio, art major.
New Boston:
Jessica Goddard, a senior, is a Huron High School
graduate. She is a mass mediated communications
major.
De Tour Village:
Anne Goetz, a sophomore, is a De Tour High School
graduate.
Gibraltar:
Sarah Henry, a sophomore, is an Oscar A. Carlson
High School graduate.
Saline:
Karly Herron, a junior, is a Saline High School
graduate.
Jackson:
Andy Jones, a sophomore, is a Napoleon High
School graduate.
Addison:
Julia Peterson, a sophomore, is an Addison High
School graduate. She is an English writing,
environmental science major.
Grand Blanc:
Krystal Weierstahl, a senior, is a Grand Blanc
High School graduate. She is a biology major.
Berkley:
Starr Williams, a senior, is a Roeper High School
graduate. She is an art
studio, art major.

Middleburg Heights:
Annette Camarati, a sophomore, is a Midpark
High School graduate. She is an art studio,
art major.
Liberty Center:
Kara Bodenbender, a senior, is a Liberty Center
