Marching Band
Welcome
to our website! Last fall (2008), we
had a tremendously successful 2nd season! We
are excited to announce that plans are well
under way for our 3rd fall season. If you are
interested in possibly being in our band someday,
please click on the “Tell
Us About Yourself” link on
this page so Dr. Marks can send you more data.
If you are an incoming freshman, or if you are
planning to transfer to Adrian College this
fall, this website contains valuable data for
you!
If
you are interested in our scholarship program,
or if you are an Adrian College student who
wishes to be a member of our basketball/hockey
pep band, please call Dr. Marty Marks at 517-264-3879
or send an email message to mmarks@adrian.edu.
Great News for
the Fall Semester
- Our staff, including
Peggy Warren (color guard), Scott Kretzer
(drumline), and Angie Lewis (twirling) are
all returning this fall!
- Jon Ciaramitaro,
Danielle Prielipp, and Kim Schaub will be
our drum majors this fall! Many of our music
education majors will be serving as section
leaders as well.
- Band Camp will begin
on 10 August this year (some will check in
on Sunday afternoon, August 9), and students
will NOT pay extra for the additional room
and board. Most students will be able to check
into their own assigned dorm rooms. Some will
temporarily stay in another room, then move
to their dorm rooms the following Saturday.
- Music will be sent
to everyone in advance this year. Look for
your music to arrive in either late June or
early July. Drumline music will take longer,
but we will send it out in installments as
early as we can.
- We have been invited
to perform at the Corn Festival Parade in
Swanton, Ohio on 22 August – the Saturday
before school begins. There will be lots of
food and fun at the festival! Also, we’re
taking the band on a mini-tour (Ida, Michigan
and Anthony Wayne HS in Ohio) on October 3rd!
