Summer 2012 Announcements:
Major wireless networking project has been announced for Summer 2012, including infrastructure upgrades and installation of over 150 new wireless access points in Residential buildings and Student housing.
Library Server upgrades will be performed in early Summer.
New ticketing system (Web Help Desk) will go live in August, 2012.
Merit Networks has chosen AC as an anchor institution for their Reach 3MC project. We will become part of the Merit Networks Fiber optic backbone. The cost savings will allow Adrian College to upgrade our Internet connection by a factor of nearly 3 (200Mbps).
Adrian College has a wide range of technology
resources and support available. Students can
enjoy the convenience of having a wired ethernet
internet connection and wireless connectivity
in each and every dorm room, and five computer
labs on campus, including a 24-hour computer
lab.
Adrian College invested
in a fiber optic network that runs to every
building on campus. The College currently has
high-speed Internet access through Dual T3 lines
(90Mbps).
Windows 7 based computers with Office 2010 are
the campus standard, although Apple computers
are used for specific applications. All students,
faculty, and staff members are provided E-mail accounts using Gmail (Google Apps for Education).
