The Art and Design Department awards scholarships to incoming freshmen based on a portfolio review. Initial awards are valued up to $12,000 over four years of study. Recipients of the Art and Design Portfolio Scholarship are invited back to campus for the Art Scholarship Achievement Day (ASA) in March. Attendance guarantees a minimum of $500 per year added to the Art Scholarship. Recipients are not required to major in art. Students may earn multiple AC scholarships and awards and will receive the total of the two largest monetary awards.
A portfolio may be presented anytime before March 15 for those students wishing to attend ASA and receive the most in funding through the Art Scholarship. Reviews can be completed in person with actual works or presented digitally. Portfolios may also be mailed. The department recommends sending a disc rather then through email as large files can be problematic. Include with the disc a list of works with the title, media, size, and date completed. In all portfolios include six to eight works in any media. The department is interested in seeing your best work rather then a range of media. Professional presentation that enhances the work is recommended.
Please call 1 800-877-2246 to arrange a campus visit and portfolio review with a member of the Art and Design faculty.
