Adrian College seeks applications
for the position of Director of Campus Safety and Security.
Responsibilities: The Director of
Campus Safety is the chief safety officer responsible for
the protection of all members of the College community and
College property; the selection, training, and supervision
of all Safety department personnel, the monitoring and control
of parking and traffic on campus and the maintenance of
departmental equipment and clerical/financial operations.
This eleven-month position reports directly to the Dean
of Students.
Requirements: Minimum of two years experience in a safety
or law enforcement position with responsibilities that would
facilitate the development of professional expertise with
the qualifications specified above. Work experience on a
college campus is highly desirable. Bachelor's degree strongly
preferred. Law enforcement training may be considered in
lieu of higher education.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and

Bookkeeper
Adrian College seeks a candidate
for the position of Bookkeeper within the business affairs
division. Position is anticipated to start no later than
August 3, 2009.
General Statement of Duties: Performs
account reconciliation for multiple balance sheet and income
statement accounts, assists in the month-end closing process
and periodic financial statement preparation, records and
adjusts daily activity to the general ledger system, assists
in the bank reconciliation process, and other duties as
assigned in support of the College’s Controller and
Treasurer.
Classification: Administrative
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent
experience required.
Supervision Received: General Supervision, reports directly
to the Controller.
Supervision Exercised: Supervises monthly
production and distribution of budget reports and payroll
and sales tax reporting. May coordinate activities of other
business office employees. May also supervise student workers.
Work schedule: Full-time, 12 months. Some weekend and evening
work may be required.
Examples of Duties: Prepare the monthly
bank and general ledger account reconciliation. Records
and adjusts to the general ledger system the daily transactions
of the School. Resolves accounting issues as they relate
to specific campus departments and student organizations.
Interprets and explains college policy to employees, students
and others. Initiates computer generated reports. The examples
listed do not necessarily include all of the duties performed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
in accounting is preferred. Demonstrate significant work
history and knowledge of practices and principles of financial
accounting. Ability to concentrate on detailed projects
during numerous interruptions by telephone or from walk-in
inquiries. Ability to communicate effectively and to exercise
human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective
working relations with the college community.

of Residence Life Coordinator / Hall Coordinator.
Responsibilities: Coordinate with administration, staff
selection/development and programming for resident students
in residence halls, College-owned houses and apartments.
Administer Residence Life and College policies and procedures.
Participate in the College’s judicial system (including
conducting hearings). Supervise student paraprofessional
staff. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Student
Life and is a full-time, 10-month live-on position.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and previous residence
life experience required. Experience with residence life
(staff member), staff selection and development, management,
and programming are critical.

both athletic and ESPE departments. Knowledge of sports
is very helpful. Establish and maintain filing and record
keeping system for office records, end of year reports,
eligibility, purchase requisitions, disbursements, game
contracts and game officials. (Not a complete list of all
duties).
Qualifications: Broad knowledge and experience in the use
of computers for word processing, graphic layout and especially
spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & Internet).
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
in person and over the telephone. Ability to work effectively
when faced with frequent interruptions. Ability to plan
and organize tasks according to periodic schedules.
