Exhibits and documents show the history of Lenawee County. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Croswell Opera House

Built in 1866 by Charles Croswell and friends, it is the oldest continually operating theater in Michigan.

Monument Park
Civil War Monument between Maumee and Church Streets, at Center St., Adrian.
The marble column has been on the National Register since 1972. It was dedicated as Adrian’s Civil War Monument in 1870, but its history dates back to 1799 when it stood in front of the Bank of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Hidden Lake Gardens
M-50 in Irish Hills, 3 1/2 miles west of M-52 (517) 431-2060.
Michigan State University runs the 670-acre botanical park which is open year round. It is a beautiful place for a picnic.

628 acres on Wamplers Lake and Sand Lake in the Irish Hills. Perfect for camping, picnicking, hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, ice skating and snowmobiling. Located near the park are numerous attractions such as a water slide, Stagecoach Stop, Prehistoric Forest, Irish Hills Twin Towers and the Irish Hills Trading Post.

Blissfield
15 minutes southeast of Adrian on Route 223. The Hathaway House, built in 1851 and converted to a fine dining establishment in 1961, has become the focal point of Blissfield. It is surrounded by a number of quaint shops, H.D. Ellis Bed & Breakfast Inn and the Main Street Stable and Tavern restaurant. Features of downtown Blissfield include an antique mall and a craft shop.

Tecumseh
15 minutes northeast of Adrian on Route 50. Tecumseh boasts a beautiful historical homes district about nine blocks long and totaling over 90 homes. Several large antique shops and three antique malls can be found in and around the town.

Adrian is close to the major bus lines in both Toledo, Ohio, and Jackson, Michigan. City and county mini-bus service is available to all local points through "Dial-A-Ride" (517) 265-6611. This mini-bus will pick up students on the College campus and transport them to the Adrian Mall, downtown shops, etc., at a very nominal fee.
