People say “Hi”
One part of
the Adrian experience rated most highly
by students is the friendly campus. From
the president’s staff to the custodial
staff, Adrian creates an environment that
is warm and inclusive. It’s more than
likely you will make some of the best friends
of your life while you’re here. |

You Can Do That
Here One
of the biggest advantages to us being a
small school is how easy it is to get involved.
When graduates look back, extracurricular
activities and athletics are not only one
of the highlights of their college years,
but valuable experiences that shape their
lives and careers. Here are some of the
few ways to get involved: |

Innovative
Learning Opportunities
As Adrian College begins Renaissance II,
several new ideas are already in motion
to give students new and unique learning
opportunities. Faculty committees have proposed
establishing institutes, such as The Institute
for Public Policy, The Institute for International
Education, The Institute for Entrepreneurial
Studies, The Institute for Experiential
Education and The Institute for Ethics Across
the Curriculum.
Also under consideration is a "J-term"
- a short semester in which students take
only one class during the month of January.
These classes are intensive, meet several
hours each week and allow students the opportunity
to try a new course not offered during traditional
semesters or a four-week study abroad experience.
While most majors require a senior project,
we hope to broaden this to a senior capstone
experience that requires all students to
synthesize years of learning into a single
project, paper, or presentation during their
senior year. |

Go Bulldogs!
The Adrian
College Athletic Department has a history
of success both in and out of the arena
of competition. As a member of the MIAA,
the nation’s oldest collegiate conference,
the Bulldogs are part of rivalries steeped
in tradition. Over the past two years we
have built a new multisport
performance stadium and an ice
arena. Adrian now offers 28 school-sponsored
sports including synchronized
skating and dance
team. The Bulldogs have a loyal,
vocal fan base and have recently been featured
in Sports
Illustrated and recevied recognition
from Mitch Albom on ESPN
and in the Detroit
Free Press.

Campus & Community
Combined
The Adrian College
community volunteers for numerous hours
each school year. Students alone completed
3,000 hours of community service in the
2007-2008 school year. The total service
hours by the students were through the
following events: Dance Marathon, Rake
'N Run, Community Plunge, Community Outreach
Week, RLC and the Hope Community Center.
Further
evidence of Adrian College’s commitment
to the community is found in the results
of the 2007 National Survey of Student
Engagement (NSSE). The results show that
Adrian College scores in the top 10% of
all colleges and universities in the nation
by offering enriching educational experiences,
of which include academic service learning,
volunteerism, and community work. |

Your Path To...SUCCESS
Let’s
face it, college is great, but students
also want to know it will lead them somewhere.
Adrian will not only provide a broad education,
but career
preparation. Adrian provides
hand-on learning, externships, and other
real-world experiences to help graduates
find the job of their dreams. Adrian alumni
are successful doctors, physical therapists,
zoologists, CEOs, teachers, lawyers, politicians,
geologists, and social workers. There is
no limit to what students can accomplish. |
