Career Options
Past graduates have pursued graduate study in
mathematics or related disciplines. Others have
gone on to successful careers in teaching or
the actuarial sciences. Mathematics faculty
work closely with department majors and minors
in helping them determine which career path
is best for them.
Below you will find
course suggestions for students interested in
mathematics and other areas of studies.
For students interested
in studying mathematics in graduate school (Master’s
or PhD level):
- Required: MATH 135,
205, 215, 303, 305, 313, 323, 403, 405
- Suggested: MATH 216,
304, 314, 324; CIS 106
For students interested
in actuarial science:
- MATH 135, 205, 215,

(including MATH 216 and MATH 324), minor
in CIS
