Events in the Adrian College Earth Science Department
 

The department has an active Geology Club that has sponsored field trips to locations such as the southwestern US, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Indiana, and Big Bend Texas. The department oversees the planetarium and hosts regular shows for the college, general public and school groups. The planetarium recently hosted a Native American star program featuring Reuben Honahnie, a Hopi from northern Arizona. Adrian sponsors a monthly convocation on a wide range of topics. Recent convocations related to the sciences have included Allen Lightman, MIT, "The Physicist as Novelist"; Steven Pinker, MIT, "How the Mind Works"; and Sy Montgomery, Nature author, "In Search for the Golden Moon Bear"
