Other
Academic Support Resources
College courses move quickly,
and most students need a little help from time
to time. Where should you go if you have questions
or need advice?
- Meet with your
professor. With a student-faculty
ratio of 13 to 1, Adrian College students
can work directly with their professors. If
you have a question or need some help understanding
a new concept, the first place to go is the
class professor.
- For writing, visit
the Writing Center. Located in Shipman
Library, this is a place where
trained writing tutors can help you with writing
papers for any class.
- For
mathematics help, visit the Math
Lab.
Located in Jones Hall, Room 107, you can drop
in for help from tutors with your math questions.
The Math
Lab is open daily M-F.
- For tutoring in
other courses, visit Academic Services in
Jones Hall. The staff can arrange
short-term tutors for you in a wide variety
of courses.
- In addition, some
departments offer tutoring services for selected
courses.
- For
general help with study skills, the
Academic
Services Department in Jones Hall
offers a wide variety of services. Staff members
can help you identify alternative study strategies
and develop time management plans. Strategies
for more effective reading, note-taking, and
test-taking are also offered. The staff teaches
a number of skills courses.
- For help planning
your academic future, meet
with your academic advisor. For career assistance,
you should visit the Office
of Career Planning in the Stanton
Administration Building.
