Sesquicentennial
Alma Mater
Adrian Chamber Choir (led by Warren
Jones) singing a newly-composed
Adrian Alma Mater (listen
here), with music written and
arranged by this semester's Adrian
College Music Theory IV class.
The original
text was set to music by Franz
Joseph Haydn. To commemorate this
auspicious 150th year of the college,
Adrian Music Theory students Trevor
Alger, Taylor Ball, Jon Ciaramitaro,
Kim Kruger, Aubrey Selaty, Lisa
Tenney, and Professor Pete Ford
composed a new melody and harmonic
backdrop to the traditional words.
This new music
was performed on graduation day
both at the Baccalaureate service
and at Commencement (the latter
with the concert band accompanying
singers Bridget Leary and Amy
Rader). |
